WELCOME to the website of Chris Mathews, a New Zealand-born writer, skeptic and lecturer based in Japan. His interests cover religion, philosophy, Japanese culture, education, politics, and travel.

Chris is the author of Modern Satanism: Anatomy of a Radical Subculture (Praeger Publishing 2009), and also runs Philosophical Misadventures , a site dedicated to documenting some of the more contentious views of famous philosophers.
